Sandy A. Ibrahim, MD

Dr. Sandy Ibrahim opened the PartnerMD office located in McLean, Virginia in May of 2008.  She is a Board Certified Family Practitioner and previously worked with primary care offices in both McLean and Fairfax, Virginia.

She notes, “Concierge practices take less time to establish a meaningful doctor/patient relationship; what I learn about my patients in one physical exam at PartnerMD might have taken me 3-5 years in a traditional primary care setting.”

Dr. Ibrahim earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, with distinction, from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.  She received her medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Family Practice at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan - where she also served as the Administrative and Academic Chief Resident.  She also participated in years of clinical and laboratory research at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor.  These areas of research included cardiovascular function, the human genome project (namely identification and sequencing of the cystic fibrosis gene) and early research that led to the ECMO heart-lung machine.

Dr. Ibrahim is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Medicine.  She is also a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians and a former member of the Medical Society of Northern Virginia.

In addition to a providing comprehensive family medical care, she has specific treatment interests in allergies and women’s health.

Dr. Ibrahim and her husband live in Fairfax County. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, rowing and cooking.

Donald R. Rhodes, MD

Having built a successful family practice in Northern Virginia and tallied an impressive medical career in the Navy, Donald Rhodes, MD, is excited to bring his eclectic experiences to PartnerMD’s McLean practice.

Dr. Rhodes attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. Upon graduation, he received a scholarship through the United States Navy's Health Professionals Scholarship Program.  He completed his medical training at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine from 1991-1995. And he has special interests in preventive health, men’s health issues and sports medicine.

Continuing his service to the country, Dr. Rhodes served on active duty in the Navy for five years while working as a flight surgeon at NAF Washington, and as the Medical Director at National Security Agency’s office in Crete, Greece.  In 2001, Dr. Rhodes returned to The University of Pittsburgh to finish his residency in family practice while also serving as a Naval Reservist. After he completed his residency in 2004, he purchased a solo family practice office in Centreville, VA where has worked for the past five years.

Dr. Rhodes has worked as an assisting physician at PartnerMD previously, which has given him the opportunity to build rapport with staff and members. Because of that, he’s well versed in the uniquely personal approach that we take to primary care.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Rhodes enjoys the company of friends and family, including his wife, Paige. He loves to travel, especially when the adventure involves one of his other passions, which include snowboarding, golf, vintage cars and football.
