Dr. Susan Scharpf joined PartnerMD in August 2013. She previously practiced at Village Green Family Medicine.

“Transitioning my practice to PartnerMD provides my patients with a more comprehensive set of amenities and an enhanced wellness component, which is important to me,” she said.

Dr. Scharpf received her bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary and her medical degree from Medical College of Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her internship and residency with Overlook Family Practice in Summit, New Jersey. She is board-certified in family medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Community involvement is important to Dr. Scharpf. She currently serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Practice at VCU Medical Center, where she teaches Foundations of Clinical Medicine. She tries to be a role model for her patients and prioritizes a healthy diet and regular exercise in her own life.

Her passion for treating patients of all ages is central to Dr. Scharpf’s practice, but she genuinely loves helping older patients maximize their health and wellness. In 2005, she completed the Geriatric Scholars certification program at VCU.

“Nothing is more rewarding to me than to help my patients live healthy, active and engaged lives,” she stated.

Dr. Sharpf and her husband, Rusty, live in Midlothian with their two sons.
