Josephine "Joey" Rick

Chief Culture Officer

PartnerMD Chief Culture Officer Joey Rick

Joey Rick is a native Richmonder and a graduate of St. Catherine’s, the College of William & Mary, and American University. Joey’s background is in the field of organization development, and her passion is helping people do what they already do – only better.

Joey is fluent in the languages of business and human development and an expert in how the field of psychology impacts the way organizations grow and succeed. Over the course of her career, she has cultivated expertise in leadership development, strategic talent improvement, organizational improvement, change management and coaching.

Joey started her career at Andersen Consulting, facilitating mergers in the financial sector. She then joined MeadWestvaco to establish their leadership development group and corporate university. Subsequent to that, Joey founded a consulting firm that catered to hospitality corporations and federal agencies. In her spare time, Joey found herself offering pro-bono help to faith-based organizations and from there was hired to be the Canon for Congregational Vitality in the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, where a stall at the National Cathedral bears her name.

Joey returns to Richmond from Olney, Maryland, where she has lived with her husband and dogs. She’s a firm believer that people like to do their work well; that workplaces can be joyful places; and that among us, we have enough gifts to accomplish anything.
