"Find a way to enjoy being healthy and reward yourself. Setbacks happen and can be overcome."
For nearly a decade, Aaron Benator has been helping people enjoy life through health and wellness. “I enjoy meeting people where they are and helping them get where they want to be,” he says. “I believe that a healthy body can make life more enjoyable.”
After beginning his career as a teacher, Aaron became interested in health and wellness while working at outdoor education camps in Texas and Georgia.
“Explaining what makes a healthy environment made me realize the importance of helping people maintain healthy bodies,” he says.
That inspiration led him to earn a Master of Science degree in exercise science and health promotion from California University of Pennsylvania.
Before joining PartnerMD, he worked as an exercise specialist with Plus One at Capital One and Qualcomm, as a club lead at Koko FitClub, as a personal trainer with 24 Hour Fitness, and as a wellness attendant at YMCA.
Aaron believes the health coach and patient relationship begins with conversations. “I like to ask why and talk about what might be preventing progress and what we want to accomplish.”
He is particularly knowledgeable about exercise and fitness and helping people create the right systems that solidify new, healthy habits.
“I am passionate about finding the right amount and right type of exercise for the individuals I work with. Everybody is different, and every body is different,” he says.
The ultimate goal?
“Whether it’s fitness, metabolic health, or figuring out how to reduce stress, seeing my patients make incremental progress over time to live healthier and happier is the best part of my job.”
Aaron was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. After living in Colorado and Texas, he recently moved to Greenville with his wife, Sidra, and cat, Batman, to be closer to family. When he’s not helping people pursue wellness, he enjoys reading, watching movies, hiking, and exercising.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia and is a lifelong Bulldogs fan, and he enjoys listening to a wide variety of music including bluegrass, jazz, outlaw country, and classic rock.
