“We can’t change our genes or everything about our environments, but through the choices we make, habits we form, and perspectives we take, we can have a profound impact on our future.”
Certified Personal Trainer, National Academy of Sports Medicine
ADAPT Certified Functional Health Coach, Kresser Institute
National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC)
Bachelor of Arts, Exercise Science, Southern Connecticut State University
“Look for ways to simplify your goals. Be honest about what you need most, and don’t take on more than you are ready for.”
As a certified health coach in Richmond, VA, Andrew combines more than 10 years of experience working in the health and wellness field with his own personal wellness experience to help patients make positive, lasting changes toward a healthier life.
“I used to struggle with digestive issues, anxiety, and depression,” he says. “After reading widely about the benefits of exercise and proper nutrition, I was inspired to take ownership of my health. My experience changed my perspective on what was possible for individuals suffering from health problems, and I want to share that perspective with others.”
Andrew loves teaching patients about exercise, movement, the efficiencies within the human body, and the personal challenges and achievements of strength training.
He also helps patients put together plans for healthy health weight loss and longevity and figuring out the impact of ancestral health and nutrition on one’s life.
“I enjoy helping patients work through the components of lasting behavior change – motivation, support, empathy, empowerment, and accountability.”
Before joining PartnerMD, Andrew worked for a personal training company in Connecticut and New York that focused on high-intensity strength training for busy professionals. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in exercise science at Southern Connecticut State University.
“I try to get patients to really connect with their end goal on a personal level,” he says. “I encourage them to explore what will be possible for them after the change, beyond a smaller number on the scale or a better result on a bone density test.”
To help his patients reach their goals, Andrew believes the most important part is learning about each patient as an individual and accounting for their own unique combination of strengths, values, and desires.
When he’s not helping people improve their lives through health and wellness, Andrew loves spending time outdoors, reading, studying history (particularly Soviet and 19-20th century European and American history), and listening to podcasts.
He also enjoys traveling and lists Scotland and Moab, Utah as his favorite places so far. He grew up in Landenberg, Pennsylvania, and moved to Richmond early in 2021 with his fiancé.
