As a board-certified family physician and concierge doctor in Richmond, VA, Dr. Dandan Li makes providing excellent preventive care for her patients a priority.
"I enjoy following my patients through their lives, building relationships with them, and being a trusted resource for them as they work to manage their health," she says.
With more than a decade of experience, Dr. Li enjoys working with patients of all ages, and she has significant expertise in geriatric medicine, women’s health across all ages, and obesity medicine.
She frequently helps patients navigate weight management issues and works with them through diet, exercise, and, if necessary, medication to achieve their goals.
"It’s fulfilling for me to work with patients dealing with chronic conditions and help them make progress to the point where we can hopefully ween them off their medications," she says.
When it comes to her philosophy as a physician, it’s all about the relationship.
"I just try to relate to my patients," she says. "I want my patients to view me as someone who doesn’t just tell them what to do. We are on a team together, and I want this to be a collaborative approach to getting them where they want to be."
Dr. Li and her husband began their careers in Illinois, but they are happy to be here in Richmond, where they’ve spent the majority of their lives.
She loves being outdoors – whether that’s working in the garden, hiking, or staying involved in their community.
Dr. Li also focuses on maintaining her own health and loves spending time on the James River, biking, and staying active.
