"Eat and exercise with purpose.”
For more than a decade, Brandon Rice has helped people focus on the positives, build on their strengths, and create opportunities for success in the world of health and wellness.
“I’m a big relationship guy,” Brandon says, "and there is no better way to connect with people than helping them in their health and wellness journey.”
After obtaining his B.S. in kinesiology, with a concentration in exercise science, from Longwood University, Brandon began his health and wellness career as a fitness manager for Capital One’s Corporate Wellness program. He is passionate about corrective exercise programming and helping people better understand how their body works through diet and exercise.
“I enjoy helping people learn how to optimize their health with a regular routine that allows them to live a less stressful, more fulfilling life.”
“The best part of my job,” Brandon says, “is when I see the proverbial lightbulb turn on when a patient learns something new or accomplishes a goal. That never gets old.”
Brandon believes everyone’s path to health and wellness is unique.
“It sounds the opposite of what it should be, but I don’t want to train others the way I want to be trained,” he says. “Everyone is different and needs a unique approach to find the right solution. Just because it worked for someone else doesn’t mean it will work for everyone. So I work with my patients to search for the right solution and stay positive so they can be successful in their own way.”
Brandon was born in Roanoke, VA, and grew up in Chesterfield County. “I spent most of my days on the playground,” he says.
He now lives in New Kent with his wife and their two dogs – a pit bull, Nola, and a Bernese mountain dog, Louie. They are very excited to be welcoming a baby boy in May 2021.
When he’s not helping patients be their best selves, Brandon loves the outdoors. “Fishing, golfing, hiking, camping, you name it, if it’s outdoors, I’m in,” he says.
For the travelers out there, he recommends the city of New Orleans, where he and his wife lived for three years after college. “If you like live music and good food, you can’t beat it,” he says.
He’s always looking for a good audiobook or podcast to listen to, so feel free to give him some recommendations, and he is a capable juggler.
