About Dr. Bigelow
A former VCU women’s basketball player, Dr. Bigelow discovered her passion for medicine thanks to her love of hoops. In other words, she broke one of her fingers so many times playing basketball it required surgery. It was then, while observing the team doctor during surgery, that inspiration struck.
Now, after more than a decade as a family medicine doctor in Richmond, Dr. Bigelow’s goal for all her patients remains simple. “I want to help you be the best you,” she says. Dr. Bigelow treats patients of all ages, from age six through adulthood, and she stresses the importance of preventative care, including consistent exercise and smart nutrition habits. She stays up-to-date on diet and nutritional information, so she can offer her patients the best clinical advice on the latest trends.
“Patients often ask about a keto diet, Whole30, intermittent fasting or some other new trend, and I pride myself on being a trusted resource for them,” she said. “Once we discuss the different options, we can work together to achieve the results they want, whether that’s weight loss, improved mobility, or maybe even something like being able to run a marathon.”
