Dr. Kang received her bachelor’s degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1988. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Boston University Medical Center and her residency in family medicine at the Georgetown University Medical Center. Dr. Kang is board certified in family medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Prior to joining PartnerMD in September 2016, Dr. Kang practiced at Plotsky Medical Associates in Rockville, Md. Dr. Kang has served as clinical instructor at both Boston University Medical School and Harvard Medical School, where she received a teaching award in 1995. She is currently clinical assistant professor at the Georgetown University Medical Center and chair of the department of family medicine at Shady Grove Medical Center.
Dr. Kang lives in McLean, Va., with her husband and has one grown daughter. She enjoys performing classical piano music, volunteering in her community and teaching Zumba classes.
She is bilingual in English and Korean.
