For Natasha Varela, healthcare had started to feel like something she moved through, not something that truly supported her. Appointments were quick. Conversations were limited. And over time, it became harder to feel confident she was getting the attention her health deserved.

When she became a member of PartnerMD Sandy Springs and began working with Dr. Jennifer Tutt, that experience shifted in a way she hadn’t expected.

“I felt like just another number before,” Natasha said. “Now I feel like I’m actually paying attention to my health.”

When Care Feels Rushed and Impersonal

Before joining PartnerMD, Natasha describes her experience with traditional primary care as cold and transactional. Visits followed a familiar pattern, but they rarely went deeper than the basics.

“It was very impersonal,” she said. “There was no real in-depth discussion. It was just a regular annual visit. Nothing extra.”

Access was also a challenge. Scheduling timely appointments, especially when something felt urgent, was often difficult. And once she was in the room, time felt limited.

“The clock was always running,” she said. “I couldn’t really gather my thoughts to ask the right questions.”

Over time, that experience left her feeling disconnected from her care and unsure if anything important might be getting missed.

Taking a Chance on Something Different

Natasha approached PartnerMD with an open mind. She had heard strong reviews about Dr. Tutt and decided to try it for a year, seeing it as an opportunity to experience something different.

“I thought, let me give it a shot,” she said.

That initial trial quickly turned into something more.

“The care was extraordinary,” she said. “It was way more than I expected.”

What stood out most was not just the experience itself, but how consistently thoughtful and thorough it felt from the very beginning.

A More Thorough, Proactive Approach

From the beginning, Natasha noticed a clear shift in how her care was handled. Visits were more comprehensive, with a broader look at her overall health.

“I had way more testing than I ever had before,” she said. “Blood work, urine samples, BMI, everything I needed to really understand my health.”

More importantly, the care felt proactive. Instead of reacting to issues, Dr. Tutt helped her think ahead and stay on top of her health in a way she hadn’t experienced before.

“She brought up tests I should be doing at my age,” Natasha said. “Things I hadn’t even considered.”

That level of guidance made a difference. Instead of wondering what she might be missing, Natasha felt like she finally had a clear, informed path forward.

When she needed additional care, support was immediate and straightforward.

“It just felt easy,” she said.

Care That Feels Personal Again

One of the most meaningful changes for Natasha has been how she feels during each visit. The pace is different. The attention is different. And the experience feels centered around her.

“You’re seen right away. You don’t have to wait months,” she said.

More importantly, she no longer feels rushed.

“I feel welcomed. I feel attended to,” she said. “I feel like I’m actually important.”

That shift has changed how she shows up for her own health. With more time and attention, she feels more prepared, more comfortable asking questions, and more confident in the care she’s receiving.

What She Found That Was Missing

Looking back, Natasha can clearly identify what had been lacking in her previous care.

“Thoroughness,” she said.

It is a simple word, but for her, it represents something much bigger. It reflects the time, attention, and proactive thinking that were missing before.

“I’m getting the services I need and deserve,” she said.

Her Advice to Others

For anyone considering a change, Natasha encourages them to take the same approach she did.

“Give it a shot,” she said. “You’ll feel the difference.”

What started as a one-year trial has become a long-term decision, one rooted in a better experience and a stronger connection to her health.

Because now, instead of feeling like just another patient, Natasha feels like someone who is known, supported, and taken seriously.
